Zirkova One and Zirkova Together begin with wheat and rye grown in the rich black earth of Ukraine. Often referred to as “the breadbasket of Europe,” Ukraine has the most fertile and lush agricultural land on earth – a full 1/3 of the world’s rich black-earth soil, containing large amounts of humus – the rich organic component of soil, which is full of calcium, phosphorus, lime and other natural fertilizers. This fecund land yields hearty wheat that adds subtle notes of anise seed, pepper and lemon zest, and rye that imparts a delicate nutty sweetness to our vodkas.

We believe vodka, like wine, can have terroir. Terroir gives grapes their sense of place – they are grown in the soil and environment in which those grapes are planted. They determine how those grapes will taste and how the wine will taste. Zirkova vodkas have terroir. Our vodka distillery dates back to 1896 and is the ideal location to realize our commitment to honoring the traditions and craftsmanship of vodka making, while incorporating modern processes.

Zirkova One and Zirkova Together are distilled four times from the finest Ukrainian grain spirits to create an ideal balance of smoothness and character. Our vodka master selects only the center cut spirits or most elite spirits, eliminating the lighter spirits which cause the medicinal smell found in most vodkas and removing the heavier spirits, which cause burn on the palate. It is a true mixture of art and science, as the spirits must also be perfectly matched to the unique characteristics of the water, with which they will be blended.

Since vodka is approximately 60% water, sourcing the finest water is essential to crafting superior vodka. After distillation, our ultra premium spirits are blended with extraordinary artesian water from Zolotonosha – a live flowing, underground water source of extreme purity and perfect mineralization. The unique mineral balance of Zolotonosha water that contributes to the harmonizing flavours of the most superior vodka.

The story of Zirkova Unity Vodka also starts in Ukraine but not in the way that Zirkova One and Zirkova Together started. Zirkova Unity was created in response to the invasion of our beloved Ukraine by Russia in February of 2022. Faced with such uncertainty, we did know one thing, that it was our time to give back to Ukraine. Immediately on the day of invasion, we pledged 100% of profits from the sale of Zirkova One and Zirkova Together to the Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal Fund. We knew our brand would receive enormous support and we did not want to be the benefactors of that support, we wanted the people of Ukraine to benefit.

The survival of the company, Zirkova Vodka, was not as important as it once was, all we could do was think about ways to support and stand for Ukraine. It was then that our employees both Ukrainian and Canadian, came together to map out our path forward. This path would take an all hands on deck approach and require extraordinary measures to take place, to bring the fundamentals of Ukrainian Vodka making to Canada to produce here.

Zirkova Unity honours our Ukrainian roots by being produced by our Master Ukrainian Distiller who has come to Canada to create Canada’s best vodka, Zirkova Unity. Every piece of Zirkova Unity has a connection to Ukraine. From the lush wheat harvested from the heart of the prairies by Ukrainian and Canadian farmers to the artesian water sourced from deep within the Canadian shield and our very bottles – flown from Ukraine to their new home in Canada. Zirkova Unity takes generations of Ukrainian Vodka making knowledge and traditions and transplants them in Canada – Zirkova Vodka’s second home.
